Incredible 1.8 - Do new trunks need firewall holes on incredible box?

I'm having trouble registering a les.net did/peer to my incredible 1.8 box.

I have registered a vitelity did - I know it works.

The les.net peer shows:

did.voip.les.net:5060 N 1109253141 120 Request Sent

t seems like the incredible pbx never receives anything back from the les.net registration server. I've entered all the relevant info into the trunk configuration. Obviously I can't make or receive calls from this DID - I just want it to show as registered.

I can register a linksys 932 (i think that's the model) to the same les.net DID - So my hardware firewall should be correctly configured, I believe.

Question:

Do I need to "allow" the IP address for les.net (or other did providers) anywhere in the firewall config for the incredible pbx to register to the les.net server? Are there entries in the firewall that allow the vitelity or other "included" DID providers to function?

Thanks for the help.

Is this a SIP connection?? disable-iptables will tell you in 2 seconds. Don't forget to enable-iptables.

If you're sending a registration string, you shouldn't need any ports opened or mapped.

If it's IAX, you'll need to add the IP address in /etc/sysconfig/iptables. Just add a line near this one that looks the same:

-A INPUT -p udp -m udp -s 64.27.1.153 --dport 4569 -j ACCEPT

Then: service iptables restart

thanks for quick response. Yes - a SIP connection.

I am sending a registration string.

disable-iptables didn't help me - I think that means that my registration problem is someplace else - not with firewall issues on my incredible 1.8 box.

enable-iptables turned on after experiment!

thanks again.

My Bad. Typo in the password string made les.net block the ip. Sent support ticket. They fixed. I feel small.

I use les and am switching my existing office 1.6 version over to 1.8 should be fun. I have always found les to be one of the better providers and of course he runs asterisk to do all his stuff.
