With all the stuff I have read in the forum about getting Incredible Fax 11 working, for some reason I feel gun-shy to ask for help. After banging my head against the wall, I have to!

I have done my best trying to perform the instructions here: http://nerdvittles.com/?p=6072, which also points to here: http://nerdvittles.com/?p=738.

The specific error I am receiving is one others have gotten, which is
"The AvantFAX database is DOWN. Check your database settings in local_config.php"

I have followed specific threads in the forum that has solutions to fix this issue (add user and pass to database using myphp), but to no avail. When I go into myphp admin to try to add this user, I don't even have any tables in the avantfax database. I have reinstalled a couple of times and have tried just about everything I can find on the forums...not sure where to go from here.

I am running PBX in a Flash Incredible PBX 11-12 with Incredible GUI (Centos 6.6) at Rentpbx.'

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Jake

The fax installer is included in /root after initial install completes. Did you run that or something else??

hmm...I have done some much trouble to troubleshoot it I am not really sure at this point. I did my best to follow the instructions located here: http://nerdvittles.com/?p=6072 is that what you are talking about?

wardmundy I know I probably missing something, but for the life of me, I could not find it on that page. That article looks to me like it's talking about the entire install, not just Incredible fax. Sorry I am so slow with this.

Thanks!
Jake

You're not slow. What I was suggesting was that you start over with a more reliable platform.

Thanks Ward. So basically start from scratch? Is there a way to back up configurations and such?

By the way, I am running PBX in a Flash Incredible PBX 11-12 with Incredible GUI (Centos 6.6) at RentPBX. I thought that was one of the most stable newer releases available? Almost looks what you would choose in the article you referenced to me.

That's why we ask folks to include a copy of their status display when they open a thread. It saves a lot of time. Have you read the Nerd Vittles tutorial that applies to that build: http://nerdvittles.com/?p=13599. As noted above, there should have been an incrediblefax installer in the /root directory. Note the difference in the article number you referenced and the one cited here. These articles are published in numerical order which means you're about 7,500 behind. Did you run the provided fax installer or do something else?? If you don't know, ask RentPBX to reimage your server and start fresh so you can do it the right way.

I really do appreciate the help. I did put this sentence when I opened the thread "I am running PBX in a Flash Incredible PBX 11-12 with Incredible GUI (Centos 6.6) at Rentpbx

To make sure I do not repeat the same mistakes:

At RentPbx, if I have them reinstall for me, referencing this article: http://nerdvittles.com/?p=13599 at what point in this article does the installation from RentPBX pickup? For example, right about here:

Once you have agreed to the license agreement and terms of use, press Enter and go have a long cup of coffee. The Incredible PBX installers run unattended so find something to do for the next 30-60 minutes unless you just like watching code compile. When the installation is complete, run /root/admin-pw-change to set the admin password for GUI access using a browser. If you’re using the version 12 GUI, don’t forget: gui-fix.

Thank you for all your help,

Jake

My setup: PBX in a Flash Incredible PBX 11-12 with Incredible GUI (Centos 6.6) at Rentpbx

wardmundy we did a new install at RentPBX. I have followed the instructions in this article http://nerdvittles.com/?p=13599 to the letter and I have encountered my first problem. Following the steps that are recommend, I am at the cat passwords.FAQ stage. See the attached screenshot. Am I doing something wrong here? http://www.evernote.com/shard/s383/...f0d4bc524490/4d3735f96325a274cac596e7b5e9f302

I watched the entire install process and there was not an option asking me if I wanted to install IncredibleFax. The only mention of it so far is here: http://www.evernote.com/shard/s383/...f0d4bc524490/4d3735f96325a274cac596e7b5e9f302

I am a novice with Linux, but a fairly technical small business owner. I can follow directions, but for some reason, this is really kicking my butt.

OK, got past most of this by creating a new user as referenced in a new thread. Seems to be working, thank you.
