I moved from PIAF 3 to Incredible PBX as 3 wasn't being updated anymore. PIAF 3 worked flawlessly. I-PBX works fine except that it randomly picks up calls on all lines anywhere from 0 to 30 seconds after receipt.

I have switched off every conceivable feature that would delay pickup without effect. I have even DMZ'd the I-PBX as a part of the troubleshooting without resolution.

Ideas anyone?

It is difficult to troubleshoot without more information. Maybe if you cite specific examples of what is happening, extension settings, and the like.

The problem is that when using CLI that the system doesn't respond to voip.ms sending the call to the IVR consistently. Sometimes it works properly, sometimes it doesn't.

Usually this happens immediately. Sometimes nothing happens for 20 seconds. Although it cannot do a lookup on IncrediblePBX.local and is doing something with "reversecharge,' the key problem is that the CLI screen is blank for up to 30 seconds before these lines appear.

As soon as the lines are generated the IVR answers.

Further, the old PBX in a Flash system works without any problems, except that updates are not available.

I disabled the Google Voice trunk without any changes. It maybe that the IncrediblePBX.local is the problem but my attempts to change the local name failed in WebMin, Hostname and DNS Client! Any ideas of the preferred method?

Failed to save DNS configuration : Failed to replace /etc/resolv.conf with /etc/resolv.conf.webmintmp.22887 : Operation not permitted

If you're going to use incrediblepbx.local as your hostname, you should add it to /etc/hosts.

It is in the hosts file, but doesn't make a difference. Periodically it takes 15-30 seconds for a call to be answered by the IVR. I'm building another vmWare instance and will manually reconfigure and test.

I'd make sure with sip trace that the call comes in immediately. Then if it does, where does the call go? My guess would be that its going through CID Superfecta and its the one delaying pushing the call to the IVR. Just a guess though. SIP trace is your friend

I switched on the system, for a repetitive "one last try" and... what a surprise, everything worked properly! Although the new system appears remarkably similar to the original version we used, it works and that's what matters.

Thanks to everyone for their help. Persistence pays off.

Life is too short, but in this business, it's a series of frustrations with an eventual win. I just couldn't let I-PBX win, and as Winston Churchill once said... "Never give in, never, never, never." That said, I deleted all of the non-working instances to stop additional temptations and have moved onto other frustrating projects... looking for another win.
