Installation perfect however... Are these ideas possible?

Hi

Are you saying that you have the following DID?

9600 and 4311, 4312, 4313 .....

If this is the case, you will need an inbound route for each DID, as per my writeup.

Ensure every DID has an inbound route specific to the DID.
The numbers that you put into Zap Channel DID are directly related to what you should put in Inbound Routes as DID.

Jroper,

However I thought that all of them should be using the same DID to effective 'group' them.

I'll create inbound routes for all of the lines and see what happens.

Thanks!

Jroper,

So, here's the latest... I named all of the channels and applied the DID's. I then removed my default 'zap' inbound route and then added inbound routes based off each of the DID's that I created.

I have 6 lines-
4311
4312
4313
4314
4315
9600

4311 and 4312 when called directly, I get a 'not available message', however when I call ANY of the other lines, they work fine.

I called the local telco (Verizon) and they claim that nothing is different on any of the lines. (4311 is the same as 4315, however only the latter works.)

How can I go about troubleshooting this? I've reviewed the config over and over again and it's correct... (Atleast, as far as I can see.)

Thanks!
Drew

The first step is to see what happens in the log when a call comes in. Do you know how to do that?

I know that from the command line, I can run asterisk -vvvr as I have used that in the past... Is there any other commands I need to issue at the *CLI?

Thanks!

You can also look at /var/log/asterisk/full which will contain at least as much as what you see on asterisk -rvvv. What you need to do is place a call, look at the logs, and then paste the information starting from when the call was placed until it terminates. That will help us figure it out.

Eric,

Running the logs did the trick. It seems that the channels are enumerated in the reverse order. (What I thought was channel 1 on the Digium card turned out to be channel 8, which since I don't have 8 lines, the port was empty.)

I went through all of the lines and re-enumerated everything and now I am perfect!

Thanks all for the continued help! It's much appreciated!
(It was also an awesome learning experience!!!)
