Is this normal for any provider or just Vitelity?

64.2.142.18.ptr.us.xo.net

WinMTR shows InterNAP is at least two providers removed from their connection to the Internet, which apparently is from xo.net.

I'm not sure you can hold Vitelity responsible for issues with an intermediate provider. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

On my WinMTR runs, I'm seeing consistently dropped packets from my provider, RoadRunner/TWC in Raleigh, NC.

Guess I'm going to have to try and rattle some cages at TWC. I'm not looking forward to that.

I speak with Vitelity on a regular basis, and is straight from the horses mouth when I say they host with Internap... I also made the incorrect assumption that it's XO as well, and they let me know (quite some time ago). If I were to guess, I'd say that Internap is reselling XO's service or is co-locating themselves.

Down again this morning...

At 8:55am MDT one of our session border controllers experienced an unrecoverable failure causing many of our DID numbers to become unreachable. Our vendor has resolved the issue and applied a patch to our SBC.

And yes, I can and *should* hold Vitelity accountable for problems with their providers. We're buying a service from them and require reliability.
