The documentation is quite bad. Once you get it installed, you can then start installing various applications on it. There is some sort of limited app market place on it. However, the premise is you make your own apps for it. They do have a "Making your first Kazoo App" on YouTube, but it was targeted for those who went to some convention.
That is Kazoo version 5. Not available now, and no update on when it will be released
There are also apps in github that you can try. It's taken me quite some time to get all the apps up and working as desired and our own VM Transcription, etc. But now we do have a true multi-tentant VoIP solution ... now to test it out and see if it is stable or not. I spoke for a while with Tony Lewis at ClearlyIP (big brain for FreePBX) about this yesterday at the ITexpo. He gave me a cautionary tale for using Kazoo. So make sure you test it extensively before implementing.

You can definitely do that. In Kazoo you have tenants - tenants can even be nested. Then you have "Numbers" app - this is where you assign the numbers at each tenant. Then process them how you like and as you would in FreePBX. I plan to use Kazoo in 2 different processes. One would be as a failover for FreePBX - to start with - just forward calls, or take voicemail, etc. But I've even played with having same extension numbers and going that direction. I think its doable, but a bit of work. Then the other process would be as a replacement to FreePBX. Still trying to get all the pieces in place that I want, but so far ... so good.

No wonder they have not been extremely helpful anymore on their forum. While they do help sometimes, you may only get one or two responses out of them before they go quiet.
This is my assumption as well. ... I'd be hopeful that the community could take off like this one has. But unfortunately, I think perhaps people that have learned the methods keep quiet thinking they don't want competition ?? Some folks do seem helpful and of course it is appreciated. They have done some things that make it better for their hosted business model at the expense of functionality though that I don't like. I've not gotten to the point, but my understanding is for example that they don't use PJsip, because then you could have let's say 10 phone devices, but it would only count as one on their hosted system, so they would potentially lose some income. I would have thought - open it up - if someone really wants all extensions to act and look as one and cheapen by having only one pay, then they are handicapped on abilities and that would make up such a small group of people, that you're throwing the baby out with the bath water.
It is on GitHub, but they closed it off to the public a while back to concentrate on the app store release.
Yes, back in November, that is what I was told..... They must be having some real growing pains because I was told it would be done in January.
I really think it is the CentOS thing. Even Sangoma had a bit of a setback from that RedHat fiasco , but they have a lot more people working for them on it.
