Someone managed to get into my system this morning and start making lots of calls to Barbados. Fortunately most of them failed and then Vitelity caught the odd dialing behavior and shut off international calling. Lots of changed passwords and ip restrictions later, total cost of intrustion $0.89 and vitelity gave me a credit of $1.00. Great customer service and they caught it first and stopped it before I was even aware.

I guess it is time to replace my pbxiaf version 2 system with something newer and more secure. I just did not want to mess with it as the combination of Rentpbx and vitelity has been super stable for over 5 years.

Whoever go into the system managed to disable fail2ban which may be part of the problem as someone externally got into the system and figured out password for an extension and dialed away.

@phinphan: Incredible PBX 13-13 awaits. :rockon:

I already have it running on woothosting but am trying to decide on a more robust option that is cheaper than rentpbx. Probably will stick with rentpbx because it just works.

You must check Vultr

Good Morning,

@ward I have been talking to RentPBX about 13-13 Lean. By this post are you saying that Lean 13-13 and / or Enchilada will load on RentPBX ? They seem to be a CentOS 6.n platform right now, and there was a note about a security exposure issue with CentOS last week.

It has come to our attention that a kernel update to Centos 6 will cause the server to fail to boot. After investigating further, it looks like it is a widespread issue based on discussions in Centos support forum. We are monitoring this issue. Examples of distributions that run on Centos 6 are FreePBX Distro version 6 or newer, PBX in a Flash version 2 or newer or Incredible PBX based on Centos. Or if you are not sure, you can open a file in /etc/redhat-release. If the file exists and contains a version number 6.x then you run a Centos 6. In this case, please do NOT update your kernel if you run Centos 6 at this moment.

Any tips / direction you can offer the community (and me) would be appreciated greatly as like others here my RentPBX has been so stable that is going on four years old now.

==========================.

All sorts of Linux kernels. We're not seeing it on most of our new builds even after running yum update. Perhaps they have pulled it.
