les.net vs voipstreet.com

Les used to be very responsive when he was one man show, but now as someone said if it works, it works. If it doesn't, you can jump it the river and they wouldn't give a rodent's behind.

You get what you pay for.
The good: Immedieate online provisioning, low prices.
The bad: quality is ok,
The ugly: If you have a problem, you ar e up the creek without a paddle.

I have pbiaf with a les DID 16ms ping to Les from my location.

Worked fine for about a month or so, occasional slow registration would take 2 or 3 tries was using for a fax line. Stopped registring all together now. Spent an hr on hold on the phone, being the next caller on line. Then opened a ticket...No response so far.

So if its for yourself and you can hide the downtime from the wife, go for it. For a customer, don't even think about it unless you particularly dont care about your reputation.

The only problem I've had with les.net is that I can't get them to fix my outgoing callerID. I don't know if it is their problem or the carrier they are using, but I can't seem to get les.net to drive the problem to closure.

Essentially, when I call someone on the public phone network (like AT&T), my callerID shows up as "les.net (1996)". It obviously has something to do with the SS7 callerID database lookup (since voip only passes the number), which is the responsibility of the carrier to maintain.

This problem was first reported to les.net in April, and it has yet to be resolved.

Good for a long time - then not so good for weeks

We have been with Les.net for quite some time. They were great for a long time - but when something happens - they don't seem to feel much urgency about fixing it.

For the last couple of weeks - their service has been experiencing some regular issues. As reported by someone else here, the system registrations are taking a long time, and very often timing out - which makes the line unavailable.

When calls do go through - they have been choppy (again, for the last couple of weeks), often to the point of being unusable.

We have been relying on callwithus for our outbound calling - but inbound is of course harder to deal with.

We hope to give les.net the time to correct their issues - they have been a good vendor - and frankly porting the numbers to another vendor is a royal headache I hope to avoid.
