I have a PAP2 with a fax machine in one port and a standard wireless phone in the other. It sort of works but dialing is a challenge. It seems like a lot of the times the PAP2 intercepts the digits especially for the *xx commands. Does anyone have a Dial Plan entry that works great with Asterisk/PIAF?? This is for the USA, standard 10 digit, long distance, PIAF functions, etc.

BTW, there are a zillion options on this thing and I can not find any documentation on them. Anyone know of any doc files?

on "regional" tab and "vertical service activation codes" just remove everything there if you want PIAF to handle all the features. (you may wish at a later date to put some back if you want "feature active" dial tone)

I can't help directly with a US dial plan as I'm in England but here is a British one you might be able to adapt (I will explain what each bit does). Extensions on my system are 3 digits long and the prefix 9 is used to get an outside line.)

(** | 1xxS0 | [2-6]xxS0 | 70xS0 | 7[1-9]x. | 8xxS0 | *0xxS0 | *[1-7]xS0 | *80xxxS0 | *9xS0 | 9[2-8]xxxxxS0 | 900x. | 90xxxxxxxxxxS0 | 91xxxxS0 | 9999S0 | *xx. )

** = allow the ** code

1xxS0 - allow 3 digit dialing 1xx (I use don't use 1xx extensions but have this for some feature codes)

the "S0" (NB: this is a zero) after some entries override the timers so the numbers are sent immediately and you don't have to wait 5 or so seconds for the digits to time out (like on your normal phone)

[2-6]xxS0 - 3 digit extension dialling 200-699

70xS0
- allow 700 to 709 to be dialled (for the Asterisk built in call parking, although I don't use this much)

7[1-9]x. this allows me to use 71/72/73 to 79 + any string of digits - I use this to force calls out via certain trunks

8xxS0 - allow 800 to 899 to be dialled (I have this set up to route to some Centrex extensions via outbound trunks in such a way the end user thinks its just another 3 digit extension
*0xxS0 - allow the FreePBX speed dial to be used. This is important as otherwise the Linksys kit will clip off the last digit of the speed dial if its treated like *nn feature code,,

*[1-7]xS0 - allow standard feature codes *10 to *79

*80xxxS0 - allow *80nnn for intercom to 3 digit extensions

*9xS0
- allow *90-*99 feature codes

9[2-8]xxxxxS0 - allow PSTN dialling prefixed by 9, this is for local 6 digit dialling (this is in a small English village where telephone numbers are only 6 digits long)

900x. - allow foreign calls prefixed by 9 - 00 is like 011 in the USA.

90xxxxxxxxxxS0 - allow long distance PSTN calls. We use "0" where you use "1" in the USA, for instance a phone number would be 01632 986000

91xxxxS0 - allow various service test numbers, and 112 (emergency)

9999S0 - allow 9+999 (like 911 in the UK)

*xx. a catchall for remaining feature codes (probably doesn't even get used, it was on the Linksys "out of the box")
