Nerdvittles turned me on to Wazo. I have it running on RentPBX, DO & some internal VM's all for testing installs and functionality. Using trunks from Vitelity and DIDforSale. I play with it...till i break it....then i reinstall it again. With repetition comes familiarity. I have been 'bugging' the guys at projects.wazo.community when it was suggested "Did you check the incrediblepbx forum to see if someone had a similar problem?"

Well, i kinda thought i was. Hence, now i am here.

During my last 'start over' scenarios, i got the '403 Forbidden' message on a DO Droplet install that hung up on the latest 170.6. Bill at DO ran a sample spinup and ran in to the same issue, His solution was to hit the CTL-C to stop and restart the install. He is on it, i am sure this is going to be worked out, if it is not already.

Some real questions:
  • do i refer to it as Wazo or xivo?
  • since i am using a distro from DO from IncrediblePBX, is it inappropriate to burdening 'projects.wazo.community'?
  • Cannot get the Plugins to install for Polycom IP phones using 'http://provd.wazo.community/plugins/1/testing/' or 'http://provd.wazo.community/plugins/1/statble/'
  • Isn't there a directory (i tried cache) i can put the 'Polycom_UC_Software_4_0_11_rts15_release_sig_split' file in? or does it have to be linked to their provisioning library link?
  • how do i pull up the blue status screen that shows up at the end of the SSH login?
I really like the security model and the look of the upcoming gui.

Well I will offer my 2 cents, as I am not sure all of these have one black and white answer....

1. I would argue that it be refered to as Wazo going forward, and refer you to ( http://nerdvittles.com/?p=20499 ) for more information.

2. It depends on the issue you are having as to the forum to post the issue. If is a Wazo specific issue, then yes....post to projects.wazo.community. If the issue is something related to an IncrediblePBX feature or script post here. Since it is not always black and white, just pick the one you think best fits.

2a. Also ( http://documentation.wazo.community ) is a great resource to check out as well. It has answered so many of my own questions when I have had a doubt.

3. The Polycom plugins, if you want to give feedback and test changes to the plugins for wazo.community, I would argue the testing link. Otherwise, I would stick to using the Stable link only (the way it comes out of the box).

4. This I cannot advise on....

5. at the SSH console simply type "pbxstatus" minus the quotes.

Unfortunately, there is no Wazo build for Raspbian.

i find that i have to google both names independently to get info

Perhaps try "xivo OR wazo" in your Google search. ("OR" has to be capitalized. Personally, I use "OR" by far the most of all Google search syntax options. Also, now that the web is as old as it is, you can get better search results by limiting them to a recent time frame. If you want to do that, then while you're on a results page, click on the button/link "Tools" and change it from "Any Time" to what you want.)
