Hi All,
Here I am again: yesterday i started touching the firewall under webmin, to secure my system more. The issue is that I think I cut the branch I was sitting on, and now i can no longer access my server using webmin. I can access freepbx tough.
My endpoints also no longer register.

Is there an easy way to by-pass this? I have been reading trough the posts but couldn't figure out how to get out of that mess I created.

Thinking about restaging the whole thing....

Any help would be appreciated..
Best regards

PS: I have already tried to stop iptables using the script, but this doesn't seem to be stopping anything as the status still show iptables "active"

If your firewall is disabled and you still can't get into Webmin, have you checked to make sure Webmin is running? What's the output of the following command:

/etc/rc.d/init.d/webmin status

I get :
root@pbx:~ $ /etc/rc.d/init.d/webmin status
webmin (pid 6699) is running
root@pbx:~ $

but strange that iptables still show 'on line' even after I run 'disable-iptables' ??

To me this is something to do with me touching the firewall. Any direct way to stop the firewall service?

Thank you, this solved it: i could then login to webmin: thanks for the support. However don't the script 'disable-iptables' do the same? Looks like it didn't work for me....

But thank you very much for your support

Actually, disable-iptables looks like it just disables iptables from starting automaticaly at boot time (someone correct me if I'm wrong), and doesn't actually stop iptables if it's currently running.
