I was trying to provision my Polycom IP550 and wound up in the reset menu of the phone and selected 'format file system' thinking it was the full reset to defaults. So I think that was bad, and I maybe it wiped the firmware. Is there a way out of this? Can I use Endpoint Manager to reflash it?

I would read over the provisioning documentation on the Polycom web site. After it powers up what does it do? Do you get any options?

I suspect that your bootrom may be intact and you just flashed the operating system. If so, it would be an easy fix with t*f*t*p to re-provision with the latest firmware.

Don't know if the end-point manager would do this, I haven't tried it.

I reformat my file system on my polycom 550 everyday.

If you point the phone to the t*f*t*p server and install endpoint manager and THEN install the firmware from within endpoint manager you will be fine. Then reboot the phone.

There just reformatted my phone again!

Seriously you didn't brick it. I wish you would have posted in the other thread as I would have been able to help you out sooner....:banghead:

Why may I ask do you reformat every day? Guessing easy way to clean out memory?

Because I develop endpoint manager and I have to test the system everyday.

Sweet, it worked perfectly! The Endpoint Manager pushed the new firmware out to my IP 550 that I thought was bricked.
