I am sorry but I can't figure it out with the current documentation how to configure the system so each of the users that have DID to receive Faxes.

So far I understand the process of the system detecting fax tone and send it to the email address specified in FreePBX general options.

How can I do this for multiple users?

I don't know for sure if this would work, but have you tried creating an inbound route, and use a DID number?
This would mean that for every fax user, they would need their own inbound route.
I haven't implemented faxing yet, so I can't test this out - and I may be missing something.

Faxing to DID's

I've just set up a separate box (Piaf 1.3)for faxing to DID's. I'm basically sending an inbound fax from an asterisk box that is registered to the new PiaF box via an IAX trunk.
(PSTN DID ---> Asterisk Box---> PiaF Box)
The fax goes sent through, but the e-mail attachment I get is a 0 kb PDF which can't be opened, so it's breaking down somewhere in the conversion.
Any ideas out there???:confused5:

To answer the original question that started this thread, the way to use the fax for multiple DID's is to set up each DID as it's own route.
It's important to set up the system fax as a misc. destination, and include that entry when setting up each inbound route.
When the call comes in, it will 'see' the DID number. It will then know it's a fax, then pass it off to misc destination # 329 to process it.

In my case, I couldn't use ext 329, so I changed it to a different number in the Extensions_Custom.conf.

to different email addresses?

The question to have different DIDs is to be able to route different DIDs multiple emails... What I need is to set up a Fax DID per employee.. and each employee, obviously have different destination email.

I have this working fine.

We have several DIDs exclusively for faxing. Each are mapped with inbound routing, with the Fax Handling section filled out (System, email address, NVfax) and the destination set to Incoming Fax.

It's a simple matter to add as many DID / email addresses as necessary, all from the Inbound Routes page.

Hope it helps...

Fortel is correct. Hopefully can clarify just a bit more if needed.

I also have this setup and working for multiple employees. To clarify a bit, under inbound routes/fax handling section, you set the Fax Extension to "system" for every user, then enter the correct email address for each user, and choose the Fax Detection Type of "NVFax" and finally set the pause after answer to 5 (you may have to adjust somewhat, but 5 should work for most cases)

With this set up correctly, every user with a DID now has a fax number that emails the fax to their email address.
