I have multiple PBXIAF boxes out but the new loads with asterisk 1.6 im having issues with the quality of the hold music. The hold music will be crystal clear then it will get muffled and staticy and choppy then come back crystal clear. To clear some basics up...

1. It is doing this onsite on the LAN and via the SIP trunk.
2. Running asterisk build 1.6.2.20 with Free PBX 2.9 PBXIAF 1.7.5.5
3. I have uploaded the files as wav mp3 and also used sox to convert the files from mp3 to wav. I have even used music editor to remove all the sound above 4000 Hz and below 160 Hz to see if it was just over loading the channel.
4. I have used the built in MOH audio and this is happening as well.
5. I have done this when the unit is underload and not underload with the result.

Im pulling my hair out with this customer as they are extremely upset due to the MOH quality. Is anyone else having this issue or have had this issue??? :banghead:

What codecs are you using on the system? Are you using any G729?

I join you in your dissatisfaction with the quality/reliability of MoH. What makes it more troubling is when taking into account your item#'s 1,4,5 above. MoH seriously needs help.

The biggest frustration is i have systems running asterisk 1.4 base and the MOH sounds ten times better then the 1.6 base.
