MWI from SIP Trunk / MWI light from email. Possible?

Is it possible to receive MWI notification from the SIP trunk (Broadvoice) and activate the associated sip extensions message light?

- Also - Is it possible to receive an email at the Asterisk box (or Asterisk Vmail exten email addy) which will can then trigger the message light on a SIP extension?

As far as "mirroring" the message waiting from a trunk to an extension:
I discussed doing this with some real gurus (a lot like some of the other guys in this forum... ) and, at least at the time, they said it wasn't easy/possible to do so, but by using SER (openSER, perhaps?) in conjunction with Asterisk, that it could be done.


As far as doing email to voicemail, it seems like it could be done with a bit of coding (some of the work is probably already in place with the script that allows you to check your email through your PiaF system).

hmm...I didn't know there was a script for checking email. I'll check that script out in the mean time.... I actually don't need the email to to go to asterisk voicemail. Just wanted the system to somehow receive an email and trigger a message light on an extension.
