I have 2 57i phones hooked up to my piaf box. they both lose their registration almost daily. i can only regain registration by rebooting the phone.

Anyone?

Anyone? This is really aggravating, and it doesn't happen in Trixbox.

If the settings in your phone haven't changed (and I suspect they have ), then look at the FreePBX setup for the extension on both your PBX in a Flash system and on trixbox. They both use the same FreePBX code to interact with your 57i.

It seems (and I may very well be wrong) that when i turn off the firewall in pbiaf that I lose registration.

Things that make you say hmmmmm

Paul

I just migrated from trixbox after reading about PBXIAF. I have seen my phone lose registration for no reason also. This never happened with trixbox.

That's really all I have for now, but will continue to check out the problem. I am running the Walmart special with the special version of PBXIAF.

Can someone having the problem tell us a little about how your phones were configured or, better yet, post both the aastra.cfg and MACaddr.cfg files from your tftpboot directory? :confused5: The firewall shouldn't be a problem. We run nothing but Aastra phones with our firewall ON and never lose registrations... except during thunderstorms. Try turning your firewall off for a day or two and see if you still have the problem. Are all of these phones on the same subnet as your PBX in a Flash server?

Sure I will post them later today. I wasn't clear. When I turn the firewall OFF the phone loses registration. Weird huh? And yes they are on the same subnet for sure.

With the firewall on, the phone has stayed registered for 2 days.

Further update.

It seems possible that this happens when I have made changes in freepbx and commit them. Does this seem reasonable?

Make sure you are not running Asterisk 1.4.21. If you are update it to 1.4.21.1. Also, I have this problem with 57i's that were remote. Flashing the phone to the lastest firmware fixed it.

Nope, running Asterisk 1.4.21.1. It seems to be related to making changes in FreePBX.

Very odd indeed

BTW here is my mac.cfg and aastra.cfg

I'm wondering if anyone's resolved this, of if it's a unique issue. I have an install of @ 20 57i phones coming up and this would be a bummer if it cropped up.

Can you try adding this to your aastra.cfg:

sip registration period:120 # registration period in seconds
sip registration retry timer:120
sip blf subscription period:120

Also, what type of switch are you using? Is it PoE? How many nodes are on your network? Do you have any Vlan's set up? Does the switch support TOS for QoS? If so you can add TOS tags to the aastra.cfg as well.

Its a home network without a lot of traffic on it.

I am wondering if adding a DNS server to my pbiaf server would help. It worked on one of my installs on "that other system."

Sorry to do this but

"BUMP"

It is still acting up, but it seems to only happen when changes are made in freepbx. Does this seem reasonable? I want to start rolling this out instead of "that other system" but need to get this solved.
