I woke up this morning and all of a sudden my FreePBX does not work. I can go to the main PBX-in-a-Flash screen where I have the choice to go to ARI, FOP, Webmin and FreePBX but whenever you try to go to FreePBX it times out. What should I do? I need to add a new extension and some new trunks I just bought

Hi

I wonder if the screen you are seeing is in your browser cache, and the PBX is not online at all.

Put a keyboard and monitor on it, reboot, watch for any errors on reboot, login and check you can ping the outside world.

Joe

Quick reply! This forum is awesome.

Got a keyboard and monitor on it. No errors on reboot - logged in, can ping the outside world, and can even log into the Asterisk CLI - my trunks are currently registered.

Hi

Good news, so type ifconfig at the command prompt, and confirm your IP address.

Then go in and check again whether you access to web on port 80 or 9080 and SSH on 22 and 9022.

Joe

ifconfig looks good, able to SSH on both port 22 and 9022.

I found this interesting output when I ran 'service httpd status' at the command prompt.

root@telephony:~ $ service httpd status httpd (pid 3230 3229 3228 3227 3226 3225 3224 3223 3222 3221 3220 3219 3218 3217 3216 3215 3214 3213 3212 3211 3210 3209 3208 3207 3206 3205 3204 3203 3202 3201 3200 3199 3198 3197 3196 3195 3194 3193 3192 3191 3190 3189 3188 3187 3186 3185 3184 3183 3182 3181 3180 3179 3178 3177 3176 3175 3174 3173 3172 3171 3170 3169 3168 3167 3166 3165 3164 3163 3162 3161 3160 3159 3158 3157 3156 3154 3153 3152 3151 3150 3149 3148 3147 3146 3145 3144 3143 3142 3141 3140 3139 3138 3137 3136 3135 3134 3133 3132 3131 3130 3129 3128 3127 3126 3125 3124 3123 3121 3120 3119 3118 3117 3116 3115 3114 3113 3112 3111 3110 3109 3108 3107 3106 3105 3104 3103 3102 3101 3100 3099 3098 3097 3096 3095 3094 3093 3092 3091 3090 3089 3088 3087 3086 3085 3084 3083 3082 3081 3080 3079 3078 3077 3076 3075 3074 3073 3072 3071 3070 3069 3068 3067 3066 3065 3064 3063 3062 3061 3060 3059 3058 3056 3055 3054 3053 3052 3051 3050 3049 3048 3047 3046 3045 3044 3043 3042 3041 3040 3039 3038 3037 3036 3035 3034 3033 3032 3031 3030 3029 3028 3027 3026 3025 3024 3023 3022 3021 3020 3019 3018 3017 3016 3015 3014 3013 3012 3011 3010 3009 3008 3007 3006 3005 3004 3003 3002 3001 3000 2999 2998 2997 2996 2995 2994 2908 2878 2873 2870 2864 2858 2851 2845 2841 2836 2829 2825 2819 2813 2348 2347 2346 2345 2344 2343 2342 2341 2279) is running...

OK I finally got the main page to load again but it literally took like 3 minutes and FreePBX will not load (no matter how long it sits there)

Hi

Looks like many many instances of httpd sessions running.

Do your httpd logs say anything helpful,

/var/log/....

Joe

[Tue Dec 11 15:17:58 2007] [error] [client 10.222.34.22] PHP Notice: Undefined index: admin in /var/www/html/index.php on line 15

Many many errors of above-listed event are in my log. Almost a megabyte.

Any thoughts?

Any thoughts guys? I'm not really sure what to do at this point... I really don't want to wipe my hard drive and re-install everything if I don't have to.

OK I finally got the main page to load again but it literally took like 3 minutes and FreePBX will not load (no matter how long it sits there)

I had the same problem and found your post via google. On the next page was the solution.

It seems as if its an error that occurs when running your server off anything but port 80. Simple fix tho!

Same here. when running anything other than port 80, the logs fill with this:
[Sat Dec 22 14:38:36 2007] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP Notice: Undefined index: admin in /var/www/html/index.php on line 15
[Sat Dec 22 14:38:36 2007] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP Notice: Undefined index: admin in /var/www/html/index.php on line 15
[Sat Dec 22 14:38:36 2007] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP Notice: Undefined index: admin in /var/www/html/index.php on line 15
[Sat Dec 22 14:38:36 2007] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP Notice: Undefined index: admin in /var/www/html/index.php on line 15

And the processes spawn out of control. Anyone have any ideas?
This is a simple fix

cd /var/www/html

using your favourite editor open index.php

go to line 15 and make it look as follows

$admin = $_REQUEST["admin"];

notice the spaces between the n = $

Save this

then

service httpd restart

I noticed a couple of other errors in the file so I am in the midst of generating a patch and will push it out later today

Generally in my experience when apache is slow it is due to DNS problems and nothing else. The early forms of the other guys software suffered from this A LOT because they were doing non standard things.

hope this helps you and anyone that stumbles upon this in the future

Have you run update-scripts then update-fixes, then rebooted your piaf system? There is a patch in update-fixes that deals with this problem. If you type update-scripts at the command prompt and get a "command not found" Then you will need to install update-scripts follow the instructions on this page

http://www.pbxinaflash.org/update_scripts.htm

Hope this helps if not it may be something else
