My update-source16 problem (with answer for you! maybe)

I have been struggling for some time with source16. I finally went in to the log.

While the 1.4 update is downloaded, I get hung on downloading from downloads.digium.com/pub/telephony/sounds.. The script tells me no luck in downloading certain files.

The digium downloads.digium.com/pub/telephony/sounds directory does not appear to exist!!!

How do I change the script to get the sounds add ons etc...

I think I got this right.

Digium download problem fix
Recently when Digium released a beta 2 update they neglected to fix the link that allows the automatic downloading of the latest source. In order to compensate for this the update-source16.x program has been updated to support an external configuration file where you can change the values of the files to be downloaded. Once digium has *fixed* the link problem with their download site simply delete the conf file and it will go back to the automated way of downloading the latest source files. As of February 6, 2008 the link for the beta2 version of asterisk is broken so use the procedure below in the order that it is posted!

1. Download the update-source16.x.gz as above Do Not Run It Until You Complete the Rest of the steps below!
2. Log onto PBX in a Flash via the CLI (Command Line Interface) as user root
3. cd /usr/local/sbin
4. wget http://www.pbxinaflash.org/files/source16.conf
5. You can have a look in the file with nano or joe and there are complete instructions within. It is already prepatched for asterisk-1.6-beta2
6. cd /root
7. ./update-source16.x

In future you may need to modify this conf file if Digium falls down on the job and releases new beta source and fails to remember to update the autodownload links.

Never seen this crash before! really need help

I finally got upgraded and all went well. When applying the configuration changes I got the retrieve_conf error 1..port 5038. Followed the posts ( chmod tmp. ambgduser pwd) and no luck but I did print out the log and the result of amportal restart below. This looks horrible to me. Please: desperate for help.

I have been attempting to fix this with minimal success. I suspect that there is too much wrong with the beta at the moment. I am still working on it so patience if possible,
