QUESTION Need an app/module for limiting calls passed thru Asterisk

We are using an Asterisk PIAF PURPLE system (ver 2.0.6.4, FreePBX ver 2.11.0.11, Asterisk ver 1.8.23.1, Dahdi ver 2.7.0.1) between 2 PRI circuits and an on-air telephone system. I am looking for an app or module that I can install that will allow me to limit the number of calls for any one DID number that will be passed thru to the on-air telephone system. Example: our main on-air call in number can use up to all 23 channels on the PRI, but we have only 9 appearances on any of our phones. So call 10 on this number on the PRI gets passed thru to the on-air system, and goes... nowhere. Any help would be appreciated...

If calls are sent to the "on air system" from FreePBX via an outbound route over a trunk, can you not just set the "Maximum Channels" in the trunk definition to prevent the 10th call?

The problem is that we have multiple numbers coming in on that PRI, and those that are NOT from the one DID for on-air need to pass thru as well, and they all need limits as well. I am very much a novice at this stage; I don't really know much about Linux, or Asterisk, so I may be asking a very basic question with a simple answer...
At this point, I am not even sure I know how to pose the question, but perhaps this will help: can you tie a particular DID to that Maximum Channels trunk definition you mentioned? Thanks much for you help...

When the system was set up (not by me...) no inbound routes were defined. I guess what I really need is a basic Asterisk "primer" on how this should have been setup to begin with. Any recommendations? I don't want to take up any more of your time, and the depth of my ignorance is starting to scare even me...
