Need help. Too many attempts with putty. Can't get in.

Month or so ago, I installed "Ultimate PBX" purple with GV etc. This thing rocks. Haven't given it a second thought.

It's a headless server, and I attempted to log in via putty 3 times. Too lazy to look up the root password. Now putty doesn't even give me a prompt.

Now I'm not sure what to do.
Do I have to reboot or what? Is there a timeout period that will expire?

Appreciate any help.

BTW... I can get into the maint panel. Just not the command prompt.

(And yes.... I am green. But can we at least agree it has a steep learning curve?)
