[Solved] New 1757 Purple Install - No Dahdi channels....

This is a new install

HW card is a Openvox A400P with 1 FXO/FXS module - modules 0 and 1 register during bootup, modules 2 and 3 missing (no modules)

lcpci shows the following:

Code:

/etc/dahdi/system.conf is:
Code:
# Autogenerated by /usr/sbin/dahdi_genconf on Mon Jan 23 19:12:18 2012

I can not get any channels to list and it does not see the ptsn line ring on inbound....

I have tried creating the trunk in both dahdi and zap (dahdi compat mode) with no luck....

Any suggestions?

We need to see what chan_dahdi.conf shows. It sounds like it's missing the following line:

#include channel-dahdi.conf

Code:
[channels]
;
context=from-pstn
signalling=fxs_ks
rxwink=300 ; Atlas seems to use long (250ms) winks
usecallerid=yes
hidecallerid=no
callwaiting=yes
usecallingpres=yes
callwaitingcallerid=yes
threewaycalling=yes
transfer=yes
canpark=yes
cancallforward=yes
callreturn=yes
echocancel=yes
echocancelwhenbridged=no
faxdetect=incoming
echotraining=800
rxgain=0.0
txgain=0.0
callgroup=1
pickupgroup=1
;Uncomment these lines if you have problems with the disconection of your analog lines
busydetect=yes
busycount=3
hanguponpolarityswitch=yes
immediate=no
#include chan_dahdi_additional.conf
include dahdi-channels.conf
I did uncomment the last line already before making my 1st post....

this is my 1st dahdi system.... :(

is the status-output.txt file it looks like the card and the internal Ethernet adapter are sharing the same IRQ? Is that gonna be a prob?

#include dahdi-channels.conf

That is NOT a comment. A comment starts with an ";". The #include is an directive telling asterisk to include the following file. I would put it back in and restart asterisk.

o man, i knew that and now feel dumb..... :(

I now have my channels....

Wouldn't feel too bad. Using # was about the dumbest software design EVER! It's done nothing but confuse folks for years. :rant:

While I have been bitten by that also, you have to consider the Linux "shebang" at the beginning of every shell script. It also starts with a hash.

#!/bin/bash

That could be a problem. If you hear crackling audio then that is an IRQ conflict or have very bad audio problems when restarting the server. The older cards weren't as smart as the newer ones and had trouble sharing IRQs. If it does turn into a problem, try moving the card to another slot if one is available or see if the BIOS allows assigning IRQs to the PCI slots.

So far it seems to be operating just fine and with better quality/volume with the cheap clone I had played with for over a year.

Am having better results with the FXS card than the old linksys pap device we were using before. Just had to get a power splitter cord for the card to pull from the cd-rom power.

Now back to OpenVPN to get it to work correctly with a pfsense router for the server
