I'm building a PBX for some friends that have ATT U-verse (which they don't really care for) and have a few questions.

1) Any know issues with a local PBX behind a ATT U-verse router?

2) If I only use IAX2 will I need to-do any port forwarding in the ATT-Uverse router/modem?

thx

Also, as a side note. Ive noticed that HDTV via ATT U-verse is HEAVY compressed to the point I would hesitate to call it HD. Anyone else noticed this?

I have PIAF box behind a Uverse RG. I have set it to DMZ Plus mode. It assigns the WAN IP address to my pfsense box. From pfsense I can control all traffic as I wish. I have SIP and IAX2 working just fine.

Added:
I got rid of the TV service in favor DirecTV.

1) As It's all good said it works fine. I have my cisco 871 configured for DMZ Plus mode.

2) No, you should not need to do any port forwarding.

The HD looks fine to me, but my antenna does look better for network television (ABC, NBC, etc.). All in all I am happy with it, and I am glad to be rid of time warner.

If you are only using IAX2 to register with a provider, then you won't have to forward ports. If you are peering two boxes, and the box behind the U-verse router is registering with the remote box, then you won't need to forward ports. If you are just straight peering two boxes without registration, using Dundi, or peering outside boxes to your box, then UDP 4569 will have to be open. Dundi will require UDP 4520 be open also.
