I setup and tested my first PIAF box in my office for over a week and was able to make and receive calls through a Rhino 4portFXO card. Took the system over to my client for permanent install Friday but now it cannot make or receive calls.
Check and ensure I had dial tone on the 2 lines into the FXO, Internal calls are fine (ext to ext).:confused5::confused5:

Any ideas on cause and solution?

Thanks,
Cecil

Update

No one willing to help a fellow PIAF newbie? All I get when trying to make a call is "All circuits are busy"..

Thanks

You need to apply some logical trouble shooting first...

You need to determine 'what is different'. Obviously the hardware doesn't know (or care) that it has moved, but there is something either electrically different, different Service Provider, or it has been re-located into a different area code.

I'd start with: how do you dial a 'local' and 'long distance' number in both your office environment, and in the new location? Is there any 'dial-9' (or other access code) prefix involved? Since the internal extension-to-extension portion works, then you are down to examining the specific dialing pattern required to place calls to the PSTN. Therefore, the issue can ONLY be either in the Outbound Route, or Trunk configuration.

If you could post those, we could have a look...

How would you like me to send those settings?

I took screen shots as pdfs but they are to big to attach.

thanks for your help

Does the machine have a dynamic or fixed IP address? Is a firewall now blocking outside access? Can you ping mundy.org after logging into the server at the customer site?

Ward

It has a dynamic address that i will make static. Yes I can ping mundy.org :
(64 bytes from gw.wardmundy.com (174.37.6.70): icmp_seq=1 ttl=45 time=61.7 ms
64 bytes from gw.wardmundy.com (174.37.6.70): icmp_seq=2 ttl=45 time=58.0 ms
I was not aware that the firewall would affect the pots calling

Cecil
