So, turned up my first major deployment tonight, had to roll it back. The Nortel i2004 phones simply wouldn't ring, though they could dial out fine.

Interestingly, the two extensions I setup for testing worked perfectly, and still worked after the deployment. Another interesting issue was that the phones were periodically rebooting.

Has anyone seen that type of thing before with an i2004 deployment? It was the strangest thing.

The Polycom and Linksys phones I had worked flawlessly.

I'll tell you who fails. It's not the phones, it's me. It's amazing how much trouble a space between an = and a > can make. This is why I can never be a coder.

You're not the first and won't be the last. There's quite a few different syntax methods used in Asterisk, FreePBX, Zaptel and Dahdi. The most confusing is the comment symbol. One uses #, another ; and another uses # for the include command.

Glad you got it fixed and that you posted the fix.

I'm trying again tonight. The phones are currently rebooting every couple minutes, so I've changed the keepalive value in unistim.conf to 10; there was a fix posted in the trixbox forums stating this might be needed on pbxinaflash. If this doesn't work I'm buying some refurbed polycoms or grandstreams. I think I've tried hard enough to save some money here.
