I bought 4 of these phones based on the good advice here on this board, and have been trying to get them each configured with a sip2sip.info account so that they can call each other. I plan to give one to each family member so the kids can do free video calls to each other without needing the parents to setup the computer.

Anyway, I have two of the phones configured with their own sip2sip.info accounts and they both are able to call the test number of 3333 to hear music playing. However, when I try to call one phone from another I just get an immediate busy signal. I have added each phone to the opposite contact list in the web management page for each account, but it doesn't seem to help.

I have also tried on two different ISPs and different routers, but the results are the same.

Does anyone have any advice or some obvious trick I might be missing?

Thanks!

Jim

I'm having the same problem. I'm in Connecticut now, on a AT&T Uverse wireless connectiona my sister's house . 3333 works fine, but I cannot call another 1535 in South Carolina on sip2sip.info.

The the phones are on two different F/W releases.

Calls go to voicemail immediately or an "unavailable" message comes up.

That's the same guide I used and I can get the phones registered but they just won't call each other. :( I just get a message "The line is busy"

Just a heads up, but in the guide it mentions certain fields being numeric vs. multi touch vs. alphanumeric. Well that is changeable by pressing the pound sign (#) to cycle through the different input types in any field.

I just tried to change the proxy from the DNS name to the IP address but still no go on the phones calling each other.

Did you guys do any setting changes in the web management page for the accounts on sip2sip.info?

Be sure you changed to an all-numeric password on sip2sip.info.

I got some success!!

I made two changes. One, I set it to a 15 digit all numeric password, and 2, I enabled anonymous calls.

I think it was the anonymous thing though because that is how the calls present, as an incoming anonymous caller. I'm not super happy with that because I really don't want to allow that.

Anyone know how to control what identity is presented on an outbound call?

At any rate, I am excited to see it work even like this! Thanks for the help :)

How did you set the anonymous call option? I'm having issues again myself.

On the email you get from sip2sip there is a management page login option. You just need that link plus the password then it's on one of the first tabs.

There's a lot of things you can set in there, though I find it somewhat confusing on how exactly everything is supposed to work (contacts and DND tabs I am looking at you! )

Thanks for the tip. It's working fine now from Conn. to SC. Flawless performance. Turns out my daughter disconnected the phone! Duh.

spoke too soon. I'm seeing the phone here in Conn. lose registration. I've changed the registration "expiry timer" from 1 day to 60 seconds to see what happens. I really hate to leave this phone at my sisters house without some kind of remote access capability to the config screens.

both phones (one in Conn., one in SC) now stay registered and work fine after changing the expiry timer to 60 seconds. BTW, sip2sip recommends 600 seconds.
