nv-news has no news

I can use nv-news on my pbxiaf dell sc440 orgasmatron.
Just installed nv-news on my pbxiaf 1.5b system which is working otherwise fine.
Despite whichever button I press, I get no news.
I did download the application using ward's instructions, so my internet connection appears ok.
Appreciate your help!
