Wow Ward, This is fantastic. I am very interested in adding the fax option to a production server. Is there currently any instruction for adding this functionality to an existing server?

We want to make sure this is working reliably with an install over which we had some control before we proceed further. There were all sorts of problems with the other fax solution, and we don't want a repeat performance. :rolleyes5:

So, is this a different version of PiaF?

I am reading into this... that version 1.3 is old now that the Orgasimatron II is out?

Or is this a sign of things yet to be released? PiaF 1.4?

...Tom (I think, I forget who) was hinting at PiaF 1.3.1 in another thread.

How about us Orgasmatron I users ....

- upgrade option?
or do we have to do a full wipe and resetup if we want the latest?

If you want the latest, I'm afraid you have to reload. There was just no way to do a lot of this with update-fixes. The other option is to wait on a VPN in a Flash box. ;)

What about us non walmart shoppers

For moral reasons, I don't shop at walmart. Does that mean I don't get these latest features of PiaF?

I enjoy starting from scratch, but perhaps an Orgasmatron II build based on the Intel Atom would have some popularity.

It really seems to be just me but I had a lot of issues with the "Walmart Special". Since switching over to an Atom based board my systems has been rock solid. I have 2 commercial installs based on the Atom and they are operating beautifully.

The Atom is definitely on our radar. The problem with these builds is they tend to be motherboard and hard disk specific because you're doing a Mondo restore as opposed to a build from scratch.

If we can find a dirt cheap Atom system (such as the Ripple) that is in adequate supply, I'll take a stab at it when someone is willing to donate a box to the cause.

1.3.1 will contain all of the latest updates to Centos 5.2 plus some new optional nic drivers for the latest Atom motherboard. The yum update process is starting to get large with the current 1.3 iso. Most new features are contained in the load files which frequently change.

I am still wrestling with dahdi and freepbx 2.5 integration into our standard load files for the moment. Dahdi is still RC so I suspect it will be relegated to the 1.6 tree. The current version of zaptel on 32bit 1.4 systems seems stable enough so I am somewhat hesitant to update those load files to dahdi until it has been around a while and has gone thru a service pack release (aka M$ software).

Currently I have the latest dual core ATOM mb up and running in the lab with all flavors of our distro and I must say I am very happy. I just switched my office pbx over to this MB and it runs just great. The only down side is it uses different NIC drivers than the original single core Atom MB and is not currently supported by default in Centos 5.2 at least as of yesterday.

I downloaded the new iso and installed it on the wallmart special. Changed all passwords per instructions. Even though the passwords were confirmed I still need to use password as my password.

Thanks,

Jeff

So you logged in as root and typed passwd and changed the root password, but the next time you log in the password is still password??

Have I misunderstood? :confused5:

When I go to the web address of the PBX in a flash. the first screen I see is PBX in a flash with administration link in the bottom right. When I click on that link I get a screen login.php asking for Admin Pwd:. The only password that work is password. Not the password I changed on

passwd
passwd-maint
passwd-wwwadmin
passwd-meetme
/usr/libexec/webmin/changepass.pl /etc/webmin root yournewpasswordhere

I have the same issue on my SC440 and the Orgamatron II install. All passwords were changed but the web admin password is still "password".

There is a separate password for the Kennonsoft UI. It's not very secure, but here's how to change it.

  1. Go to the IP address of your server with a browser.
  2. Click on the Admin button.
  3. Click on the Menu Configuration button.
  4. Type in a new password in the Admin Pwd field.
  5. Click on the Update button.
  6. When the screen says "Changes saved successfully," click Done.
