All,

I have been tasked by my boss with installing PBXIAF on several remote systems - hint - I do not have physical access to them (they are in Dallas and I am in Okinawa). These systems are not actual physical machines - they are Parallels Virtuoso Containers. What that means is that they have CentOS 5.1 i386 installed by default and no way for me to have them installed from CD or ISO.

Since they do have CentOS 5 on them is there a way to use the Kickstart files on the ISO to update/install PBXIAF?

Any ideas in this area would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

You could look at the ksnet.cfg kickstart file, and execute the commands in it to ensure you have the right dependencies.

start with yum update, then yum groupinstall <<all the @dependencies listed>> then yum install <<all the dependencies without @>>, then under the %post section, simply put the remaining commands in a script and execute them and reboot.

As to how successful it is will depend on what is already installed on the box. e.g, X should not be installed.

Also, I'm not sure how ztdummy will perform - on Xen it crashes the Domu, unless you recompile the guest kernel and do some other skulduggery.

Joe,

Thanks for the advice! I will try that this weekend and see how it goes.

I was hoping that it would work something like that.....

I will post the results when I have attempted it.
