QUESTION passing sip ext to outside server

when someone calls the pbx inbound and i have it set to go to the extension number, and i enter the EXT / SECRET that another server game me to enter in it, will that other server see the EXT# as live and when when the call is passed from inbound to ext#, will the server the is accepting the call, going to accept it

or is their more to that... am i missing something

i hope i explained...

another provider game me a EXT# 8956 and wants me to enter the Secret 123

when someone calls inbound xxx its set to ext# 8956 and will the other server pickit up and pass the call to where ever its going?

thank you i shall look into this... anything anyone can provide is more then silence / no answer, so far i found a lot of searches using what you posted now i got some testing to do thank you.

Send the incoming call to a ring group rather than an extension to begin with.
In that ring group define a route to the second PBX/Extension. That could be a regular phone call to the second PBX (in which case you enter the phone number followed with # in your ring group definition) or it could be a private trunk call PBX to PBX (in which case you simply enter the extension on the remote PBX).

On the second PBX process the incoming caller id and forward it to the extension that you want to ring.
PBX to PBX private trunking is well covered in the forums just search for it.

I use this technique to ring my office, my home and my cell phone simultaneously when I am on the move. You can do it with a single destination and that destination can be on the incoming PBX, another PBX, or a call out to another phone number.
