TIPS Phone show's in use but isn't

I have a gxp-2140. It shows in use on all the other phones(blf). Turn phone off, and it still shows so I know its the server side. I can't get it to show up correct. When i call the number it says the person at extension 222 is on the phone. i know the extension status is in use, but I don't know how to diagnose...

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like DND may be set. IIRC with DND set the VM redirects to the "on the phone" greeting. Have you tried toggling DND on the phone using the feature code?

rossiv - I did try to toggle the DND with no luck. I verified that extension, setting by setting with another and everything was the same, also. Waited till this morning and rebooted server - light went off. Now why throwing a shoe at the TV worked????? Server has been up for 16+ weeks, I'm looking the other way and walking away quietly, unless it happens again!!!!

Side note - rossiv - you have helped me out time after time over the last year - thank you! I thought your picture was you holding up and award. I see that its a paper plate with writing. what does the writing say? It's bothering me now!!!

I had a similar issue with an extension always going to voice-mail a while back... Are you familiar with checking the Asterisk database from the Asterisk CLI console?

yes I am. I tried a few things and it said that the extension was inuse....

Haha! It's an "award" - It says "Most Likely To Make Scrambled Eggs at 12AM". An inside joke with a group of friends.
