I tried installing PBXIAF 1.7.5.4 Purple on a new box tonight (my first time using Asterisk 1.8) and I got a bunch of errors during the installation. I never tried installing any version of PBXIAF on this box, so I'm going to try starting again from scratch, but is there anything specific to look out for that would cause errors?
I've just never gotten any during any other installation, and the initial OS installation seemed to go without a hitch...
Thanks.

It would really depend on what the errors are. That's why programs have error messages, so that you can make a note of them, and ask someone. If you don't make a note of them, it is sort of difficult to guess what they might be.

Just tried installing our new Samsung TV from Amazon and got "a bunch of errors" also. Doesn't really tell you much, does it?

  1. Does your computer work?
  2. Have you paid your electric bill?
  3. Is your computer plugged in to power?
  4. Do you have a monitor?
  5. Is it plugged in to power?
  6. Is it plugged in to your computer?
  7. Did you plug it in the right hole?
  8. Got a keyboard?
  9. Is it plugged in to your computer?
  10. How 'bout a mouse?
  11. Got a network connection?
  12. Got a network cable?
  13. Is it plugged in at either end?
Do you see how silly this is yet?

Oops :)
I don't remember the specific errors, they went by pretty quickly, and I'm now reinstalling everything from scratch anyway, I'll keep an eye on the installation and write down any error info.
Thanks, and sorry for the vague question and lack of details.

OK, seems like things are working better now, but I just saw a few error messages:
As Asterisk was compiling and installing, it tells me that there may be some errors in something, don't remember where...
And got this once PBXIAF was installed:
"Unable to connect to remote Asterisk" and then a question if some path exists, maybe asterisk.ctl (went by too quickly to get it all down)?
Also, I keep getting CPU messages in Putty, or when logged in to the server - sometimes it's working well, sometimes it's running too hot, but I see the CPU usage when I look in FreePBX going pretty high every so often, even though nothing is set up yet.
Any way to set it to not show those messages, and not run as hot, or use as much resources?
Thanks!
