PIAF 1.7.5.5 Problem with Inbound Calls - Solved
I'm posting this in case it helps someone else.
Did a clean install of PIAF purple using a google voice DID as the only DID for the system.
Problem I was having was outbound calling was working but inbound was not.
I double checked the install for typos, made sure I was forward port 5222 on the firewall, and watched the asterisk log. The log showed no activity when I would use my cellphone to call my GV number.
However, like I said, outbound calling worked.
I figured this might be an issue with something on the google side of things and apparently that was the case.
I went into my google voice account. It was all configured per directions from nerdvitles. The phone number I had to associate with the GV account was not checked as a number to forward too rather only google chat was checked.
Here is how I fixed it... which bothers me because it doesn't make any sense but oh well
I deleted Google Chat as a forward, didn't just uncheck but rather deleted it. I then went into Gmail for my GV account and logged into googlechat there. I made a test call from there to my cell phone... worked.
I then hopped back into the GV website and Google Chat was magically there again as a forwarding option. I checked it. I then went back to Gmail and logged out of google chat.
Just to play it safe I now restarted asterisk.
Bam.. inbound calls are now working.
Not sure what the issue was but it obviously was on the google side. This google voice account was set up in Q1 of 2010 when you still needed invites. Perhaps there was some sort of legacy crap associated with this account and when I reset the googlechat forwarding it cleared it out.
Anyways, hopefully that helps someone
