I've recently received calls from "Microsoft Technical Support" (in India, I'm sure) reporting that my Dell computer is sending messages, and causing problems on the Internet. Sure ... and I have a bridge in London that I'd like to sell you! I thought I'd try to have a little fun with the caller, so I engaged the caller for a little while, asking "which computer are you calling about?" and "what is the host name for the computer?" and "what is the IP address that you're receiving the errant messages from?" The caller hung up!
We've all received, or at least heard about SCAM calls with similar messages. To be sure, I'm not so gullible to think that it's a legitimate caller who also claims to be a part of the "Microsoft Security Society" or something like that! Oh, the stories that the scammers do dream up ... and so sorry for those who fall for them.
But, I do have a question concerning how to block these calls:
The most recent call shows up in the CDR as "Anonymous" <Anonymous>. Is it possible to use the "built-in" Blacklist function of PIAF to blacklist calls identified as "Anonymous" ... or must the entry into this PIAF feature be numeric?
