Hey all,

Here is a quick question.

I have a couple of Piaf boxes that I would like to make standalone, i.e.: not connected to the internet. They have sangoma cards with analogue lines and internal network but no routers.

What are the suggestions for DHCP and DNS that I should consider.

I will have a old style modem to do dialups to update clock and send any error messages out.

Thoughts?

And yes, I know, seems odd. But can't connect to corporate infrastructure for DNS and don't have need for cost of business internet link.

Thanks

If you don't have routers then what are your endpoints? Trunks?
You obviously can't use VOIP trunks.
Asterisk generally doesn't like the lack of internet. There are threads about caching DNS server etc. that you can search for.
