I've tried the script on the script site for installing XWindows-KDE on my PIAF 64-bit box, however it's not completing correctly. I've tried twice, both times with the same results.

After running the script, I get this:

*******************************************************************************
*PLEASE RESIST THE URGE TO TAP THE ENTER KEY THE SCRIPT IS WORKING *
*******************************************************************************
ftp://ftp.mondorescue.org/fedora/5/repodata/other.xml.gz: [Errno 4] IOError: [Errno ftp error] timed out
Trying other mirror.
Error: failure: repodata/other.xml.gz from mondorescue: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.
./install-kde.x: line 158: cd: root: No such file or directory
Unable to retrieve kdesvn-0.14.1-1el5.x86_64.rpm

Then, I get this:

install-kde Version 1.2.1 released on Date 042908
Running on 64 Bit CentOS
**********************************************************************
* Installation complete! *
* More info is on www.pbxinaflash.org *
* *
* Tap the ENTER key to finish *
**********************************************************************

And at the very end of my install log is this:

While following the install instructions on the PDF, I tried to run system-config-display but that command didn't exist. Trying to run vncserver yielded the same results; the command didn't exist.

As of jul 19 Centos 5.2 is out. I have had numerous problems connecting to and getting yum updates including corrupted yum metadata. This could be what is causing your problem or something similar. When I run that script on a 64 bit vmware install using my personal centos 5.1/5.2 repo it installs just fine. I will however look at line 158 and see if there is something there. R U running asterisk 1.4 or 1.6

You can wait for a bit and try it again. Or you can wait till I spin out PIAF 1.3 "IN A WHILE" (No dates no time frames don't ask) which will have Centos 5.2 and a few updates. Currently I have the alpha version up and running and seems smooth so far.

Not to hijack the thread but I can hear the whiners coming!

QUESTION: Is there an upgrade path from PAIF 1.2 to PIAF 1.3?

ANSWER: NO THERE IS NO UPGRADE PATH AS THERE IS NO NEED FOR AN UPGRADE PATH. If you want Centos 5.2 do a yum update and you will have it!

QUESTION: Will all the scripts from 1.2 work with 1.3 (you deprecated all of the 1.1 scripts and pissed us off!)?

ANSWER: Yes there is no difference in the "guts" of PIAF 1.2 and 1.3 other than the new features of Centos 5.2 So all of your scripts will work. from 1.2 on up.

QUESTION: I want it now when can I have it?

ANSWER: The more time I take answering these questions the longer it will take to be made available.

QUESTION: Will money help make it appear faster?

ANSWER: Yes......

QUESTION: I want XXXXX Feature/driver added to the ISO can you do that?

ANSWER: Yes talk to Ward.

QUESTION: What new features are in Centos 5.2

ANSWER: Darned if I know the full extent.... better drivers are present so you might find it easier to install PIAF on you brand new motherboard. Still testing it out however my Intel Atom is now running my office PBX and it is on Centos 5.2 Course that was upgraded with yum as opposed to the PIAF 1.3 iso.

Wifinetguy a request next time please post this in the bug reports instead of this forum. I don't usually read anything but the bug report forums anymore due to the high noise to signal ratio elsewhere.

Thanks, Tom.

Sure, I'll put it in the bugs next time. As for Asterisk version: 1.4.

Thanks

There was a non critical error on line 159 which has been repaired and you should be able to d/l and install kdesvn. As for the rest I am sure it is related to the repos being busy. Just tried the updated install-kde on a vmware image and got very similar results to you. Repo is overloaded I think. You can however download the latest version of install-kde in about 20 mins I am just rebuilding it now.

OK. Reran it and this is the very end of the install log. Also notice the error for glibc.i686:

This is a non critical error. Kdesvn is a simple gui for svn servers. Not sure why it is not working but while I am messing around with the 1.3 code I will see if it can be made to work. You should be able to run system-config-display and get into xwindows however.
