I have the Walmart Special (newegg) with 2G RAM and the dual rescue disks from Ward.
I have the unit update with: update-scripts, update-source, and update-fixes multiple times over the last month or so.
I am able to do updates to the freepbx and have access to the outside world.
I am on a DSL line and am using dynDNS.
When I do:
root@pbx:~ $ yum -y install mod_ssl
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Setting up Install Process
Setting up repositories
mondorescue 100% |=========================| 951 B 00:00
Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://apt.sw.be/redhat/el5/en/mirrors-rpmforge error was
[Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (110, 'Connection timed out')>
Error: Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: rpmforge
root@pbx:~ $

Here is another try for freeRADIUS:
root@pbx:~ $ yum -y install freeRADIUS
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Setting up Install Process
Setting up repositories
Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://apt.sw.be/redhat/el5/en/mirrors-rpmforge error was
[Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (110, 'Connection timed out')>
Error: Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: rpmforge
root@pbx:~ $

Does anyone know why there is a timeout looking for the mirrorlist?
Thanks in advance!

Problem found - Qwest

Qwest changed the DNS(s) to a new IP so only cached URLs were working. I checked a windows PC for the DHCP setup for DNS and the IP was different. Modified /etc/resolv.conf and did 'service network restart' and all is well. I had multiple updates that completed.
Thanks

Welcome to my world Tom :mad5:

Glad it was something simple..... That is the problem with any large distro whatever the application... too many pieces of the pie can suffer from an errant comsic ray impact and poof the whole things crashes.....

Hopefully all is well now...... just dont use upgrade-source fro the moment till I get some "outside changes" handled. I will post when it is safe to use again..... (perhaps after I have rewritten it all again) :reddevil:

Tom

Thanks

I just downloaded the new gPC2 disks and will be playing with them in the near future.
Thanks for the comments!
