Problems calling internal

First my situation:

I had an up and running asterisk ( 1.4 ) with freepbx. But this is not complete stable. So i downloaded Pbx in a flash 1.1 and restored with freepbx my config.

now the problem:
Very often internal call ( form extension to extension ) does take a long time ( about 30sec ).
I also have in/outbound sip trunk. When i disable that one the problem is gone.
 
Sounds like incompatible versions of FreePBX. For best results, get your old system upgraded to FreePBX 2.3 before loading the backup on PBX in a Flash. Or, better yet, update both systems to 2.4.
 
I removed the register string from the trunk, and then it looks ok. But i need the register string, this trunk is also used for incomming calls.
 
i just did a clean setup , updated to freepbx 2.4 and updated every module.

i put in 2 extensions and tried to call between te extensions and this is perfect.

then i put in the sip trunk with the register string and afther that i can test between the extensions and from every 10 calls 1 takes about 30 sec's to reach the other.

So also with a clean pbxin a flash setup the problem with an registation string in a trunk is there.

Extra info:
When i do the test the system isn't connected to the internet and the sip trunk isn't up, but this shouldn't give problems.
 
I bet that's your problem....

Asterisk, apparently even the latest versions, will go off the deep end if you have any trunks or extensions referenced by a fully qualified domain name and it can't do DNS lookups. Often it even prevents calling between local extensions! The workaround that usually works is to install Bind on your asterisk box and make it a caching server and point your phones to your asterisk box for DNS. In my experience, this makes it happy even if the Internet is down, since even though it can't get a valid result, it can perform the lookup.
Try hooking your box up to the Internet and see if the problem goes away.
