Hello. I am fairly new to PIAF and Linux in general. I've been tinkering with PIAF for several weeks now and have successfully registered a softphone as well as my cellphone (using CsipSimple). I have created a trunk with Voip.ms and have also created an inbound and outbound route....so I am making steady progress as I continue to pour over the info in this forum as well as at the FreeBPX site.
I own 2 Polycom 320's that were previously provisioned with Phone.com for my business. I no longer need them there so I have brought them home and was hoping to provision them as extensions in my PIAF/FreePBX. The only thing I have done is perform a total phone reset and have erased all of the Phone.com settings. I should also note that even after performing the reset, the menu button does not function at all. I have to hit the startup option during the boot up to get in to the phone's configuration settings. I'm not totally sure if the menu button is broken or if the phone needs to be configured first in order for it to work properly.
My question is: If I purchase End Point Manager...first, does it come with instructions on how to install the software in the CLI? I wouldn't even know what commands to issue to perform the initial install. Second, my 320 has the 4.4.0.0 firmware installed in it which meets the criteria noted for EPM to work. Third, does the software provide assistance in pointing the phone to my server's IP address or must I do that manually myself before setting up EPM?
Sorry for all the questions but I tried searching for help in how to configure both my phone and inside the PIAF but could not get anything specifically for my IP 320's. I would need specific step-by-step instructions since I don't know my way around the Linux CLI.
Many thanks in advance for the help!
