Hi All

Just love proxmox!

I have written an install program that will install hamachi on the HN (hardware node) and allow you to have access to the main webpage and all of the containers. This does not have anything to do with running PIAF-64/hamachi under proxmox at the moment. Rather this just gives you access in a secure and remote fashion to your proxmox HN.

If you are interested in testing this please do the following

log into your proxmox HN Server as root

HTML:
wget  http://www.pbxinaflash-scripts.com/proxmox/programs/install-hamachi-proxmox.tgz

tar -xvzf install-hamachi-proxmox.tgz

rm install-hamachi-proxmox.tgz

chmod +x install-hamachi-prox

./install-hamachi-prox

Note this is beta software and is based on our PIAF hamachi program. The prompts are similar and all of my testing has been done on Proxmox 1.4.

I have been having some problems browsing to the HN with firefox running under various linux distro but none under win/mac.

I have a few other goodies for proxmox that I will be releasing in the next little while to help with admin of the HN

Oops I forgot to say my hardware platform is also the dell T105.

Thanks for testing.

Just tried this install on a Dell SC1435 server with Proxmox 1.6 and the install worked perfectly. Thanks for the script.

EDIT Spoke to soon - it does not survive a reboot and will not restart.

proxmox:~# hampiaf start
01 13:48:46.163 [ 0] [ 2650] tap: connect() failed 2 (No such file or directory)
proxmox:~# hampiaf
You need to specify a command line parameter!

hampiaf command line parameters

* Command * Command *

* Start * stop *
* set-nick <nickname> * login *
* logout * list *
* get-nicks * create <network> <password> *

* join <network> <password> * leave <network> *

Hamachi does not seem to be running. Have you run 'hamachi start' ?
proxmox:~# hamachi start
Cannot find configuration directory /root/.hamachi. Have you run 'hamachi-init' ?
proxmox:~# hamachi-init
Initializing Hamachi configuration (/root/.hamachi). Please wait ..

generating 2048-bit RSA keypair .. ok
making /root/.hamachi directory .. ok
saving /root/.hamachi/client.pub .. ok
saving /root/.hamachi/client.pri .. ok
saving /root/.hamachi/state .. ok

Authentication information has been created. Hamachi can now be started with
'hamachi start' command and then brought online with 'hamachi login'.

proxmox:~# hamachi start
01 13:49:30.401 [ 0] [ 2658] tap: connect() failed 2 (No such file or directory)
proxmox:~# hamachi start
01 13:49:44.405 [ 0] [ 2664] tap: connect() failed 2 (No such file or directory)

I have not upgraded to 1.6 yet so I can't debug it at the moment. mine is still working on 1.5. When I get a free box to test it will let you know but this is kind of low on our priority list right now with centos 6 coming.

My guess is that it can't find the control file which should be located in /etc/hamachi It seems to me the hampiaf scrip is in the clear so that is where I would start

Best regards

Tom

there should be a file in /usr/bin called hamachi-start it is plain text so you can see tuncfg is started before hamachi is started. Also this script is called in /etc/rc.local

perhaps you might look to see if these are present so we can rule out the *problem* you pointed out.

Tom

In couple weeks I will be installing Proxmox on new Dell T310, this looks very interesting but I will for sure install the latest Proxmox and so hope this glitch will have been sorted out by then. I'll post how it went.

Keep other developments for Proxmox you mentioned in your books, remote administration is something I am interested in.
