proxy server on pbxinaflash server

I recently subscribed to a hosted pbxinaflash server.

Now I need a very occasional use proxy server to access some sites which are otherwise not accessible from the country that I am in.

Can I easily enable proxy server (Squid?) on pbxinaflash server without hurting the basic purpose (which is to have a well functioning PIAF server)? If so, any links or prior advice on this - I searched but did not find any suitable link here. And I do not want to tinker with PIAF server without some advice from here.

Hi

Yes, it is fairly easy to do via webmin under servers, I do similar.

The only area which causes any difficulties is setting up the ACL, which I generally do by allowing access from your IP or range of likely IP addresses.

The default port is 3128, so you will need to open this port in IPTables as well. which again can be done via webmin.

my servers tab under webmin does not seem to have the option to activate proxy server... attached an image of the webmin screen.

this is the rentpbx.com install of pbxinaflash. any ideas as to the safest way forward?

did a search on google and this link seems to have some instructions as to what to do. can i follow these instructions exactly as laid out?

Until you install it, it will appear under unused modules.

after much research, i figured that i had not reloaded iptables settings after creating an entry for squid. once i did, it all started working.
