Hi there ...I was just installing the latest version of pbxinaflash on new puter

I would really appreciate some help on a setup and config issue that is making me pull my hair out ..... it’s probably pretty simply for you guys but I cannot figure it out

the “ issue is this ....

our pbx is hidden behind a good firewall, but My friends and co-workers cannot seem to connect to my pbx from the outside world @ all it times out etc... ( my preferred means) Sooooooooooo I set them up a subaccount @ voip.ms and “ of course they can make calls anywhere np.... we can call ext to ext ... ( big deal even I can figure THAT out ) but I cant seem to figure out how to “ allow “ ( for lack of a better word ) them to call the “ office pbx.... other than dialing my DID which is kinda lame ... but more importantly I set up extensions on our pbx but cannot figure out how to forward the “ calls “ to their “ extension “ on voip.ms subaccount ....

YES I know it’s kinda a hack .. doing that way ( setting up a subaccount on voip.ms) it’s temporary until I get this figured out ....

I even tried following these instructions .... maybe it’s outdated not sure .....

What sort of firewall are you using? Have you opened up the required ports for SIP (5060/UDP) and RTP (10000-20000/UDP) on the firewall and forwarded them to the internal address of the PIAF system?

yes i have and still no go ..... dont know why ...i even tried iax2 extenstion it wont work .....i just thought of something ...maybe dumb question does my pbx server ( inhouse as it were behind a firewall) it is currently connected via sip account on voip.ms, does it need to be connected via iax too on voip.ms for anyone to call my pbx via iax protocol ......

and for some reason my friends with subaccounts under our name on voip.ms cant call our pbx except the obvious way of calling our did which is kinda lame eh ??

this is strange .... i cant even connect to my local pbx on 192.168....... using iax2 on zoiper ..... what am i missing here ...... i know in sip i " just" use ( for example ) 705 ( my extension # ) and password etc and i can connect ... but not with iax2 ..... what gives or am i missing here ???? what are the user name for iax2 ... are they different ........

thanks

When an extension is trying to connect to you pbx, you need to capture the debug logs and show them to us.

how do i do that ..... i did that asterisk command line thing and could see the sip one registering but not the iax2 ones ..... nada .... is the user name different for iax setup .... and btw i can see that it's connecting to iax2 on voip.ms so it must be some setting here ...wouldnt it ???

That's not the latest version of PIAF. Could you please tell us what ISO you used?

wow that is a 1757 iso I bet! No wonder he is having problems. I seem to remember that there was a problem with IAX with this version. Cure? Fresh install with 20645 ISO and choose green.

I didn't think 1.6 would compile any more. Wow. Yep you need to download 2.0.6.4.5.

3 or 4 critical must things here...

This Xlite screenshot is working with the latest iso and behind a pf sense...

Stuff on the firewall;
Need to forward udp 5060 to PIAF's internal IP
Need to forard udp 10000 - 20000 to Piaf's internal ip to UDP 10000 (some says not needed or not secure I could not get it to work otherwise)

Stuff on the PIAF;
Need to go to Settings > Asterisk SIP Settings and select STATIC IP and write the port if you are using translation. (I do so it's like this e.g yourip:port xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1515)
When you make an extension NAT MUST be selected as NAT:yes

Stuff on Xlite see the picture..
