Does anyone know of a Quality VOIP provider in Florida? We are in a Brighthouse area and their analog handoff lines over cable work well and their SIP handoff over Fiber is good, but they cant do remote DIDs. We currently use Broadvox, but have quite a few problems with them.

I have had good service with Vitelity, Voip.ms and les.net. Voip.ms is so good I am able to use it for analog fax with about 99% success. My system is in Melbourne.

What do you mean by 'remote DIDs'?

I have Brighthouse SIP service... had it for about 1.5 years now.

Check Out Aretta Communications

Also check out Aretta Communications. I'm able to fax and have no voice issues with them. They're based in Atlanta.

If I have a main office in Orlando and a remote office in Tampa that connects via VPN into the system in Orlando, then I need a DID that is local to Tampa. If the system is in Orlando, they cant give me a Tampa DID.

I'm guessing you like Voip.ms the most. Do they have a flat rate unlimited trunk or is it all per minute?

You could always port a number to them.

Not the cheapest solution @ $20-$25/ea, but effective.

I have several clients who use their analog handoffs over cable and it works good. Right now a direct SIP handoff is only available over Fiber. We have one client on it with an Asterisk server and are setting another up this month and one more using a Shoretel system. They work well.

FYI, they are opening a beta test program for SIP over cable. If you're a reseller, you may want to look into it.

If they could do the remote DID's, I'd be all over them like white on rice. Or something like that. What part of Orlando are you in?

South - my main source of income is over by John Young & Sand Lake Road.

SIP over cable might be a holy grail for some... as a matter of fact, it's already got me thinking of a number of sites. That's a great way to do things.

I use BH SIP for outbound calling, but they have DTMF issues they can't seem to resolve... so for those few #'s (and all toll-free) I still route over my oh-so-stable PRI's with tw telecom.

As it is now, I'm porting a ton of numbers to tw for incoming - even remote locations - then I pipe the call back over MPLS. Rock solid (expensive) but it allows for centralization of resources - dual PRI's, SIP, etc - I have over 50 channels of dialtone with more available with a simple phone call.

It does seem odd that they can't give other DID's... of course, they also swore to me that I "had" to keep the CID that they gave me on outbound calls. But guess what works perfectly well ;)

I'm over on the West side with clients all over, East side to Tampa and a few scattered throughout the state and some overseas. Are you an in-house guy or do you provide support for other small businesses?
