Further info.
I have a very simple/basic system set up right now with POTS lines only. Have 1 zap trunk set up. Only changes from defaults are:
Outbound Caller ID:
Outbound Dial Prefix: w
Zap Identifier (trunk name): g0
1 Route called Everything with the following changes from default settings:
Dial Patterns: 1NXXNXXXXXX
NXXXXXX
Trunk Sequence: ZAP/g0
I installed mondoarchive and the dailybackup script. I ran the script and the backup appeared to work fine and I do indeed have files on my USB stick I backed up to. Disabled all the other forms of media.
After doing this, I started getting an All circuits are busy message on all outgoing calls with asterisk reporting congestion as the reason and a fast busy signal when I tried to call in. I tried deleting and readding the trunk and route. Same problem. I decided to try adding a second route with this change to the default settings:
Dial Patterns: 7|.
Trunk Sequence: ZAP/g0
and my system started working again. I then deleted this route and everything was back to normal.
I forgot to remove the dailybackup script from cron.daily and when I came in to the office this morning, the phones were dead again, same problem and asterisk had been stopped. Restarted asterisk and still had the same problem with 'all circuits are busy' on outgoing and fast busy when trying to call in. I added the Route again (7|. on ZAP/g0) and everything started working again. I am now thoroughly confused.. I guess I will leave the 7|. route in for now and see what happens..
