Anyone here familiar with this FCC requirement from 2015/2018 that requires providers to offer a 24-hour battery backup at the time of sale? Curious to hear opinions or how you're handling it. Good thing we only have to "offer" an option because 24-hour battery backups ain't cheap for an SMB.

This is interesting, I am not familiar with this - I've been learning about many FCCs requirements though. In any case, I guess this would be important if my customer was "residential". Maybe coming up with a list of hardware options and the time of sale and offer it up to the customer. Also, if the customer rejects the battery backup option, then I would have them sign somewhere in an agreement. Then, it looks like annual e-mail reminders would be important. I found an FCC guide that may help. - If FCC is so interested in making sure residential 911 calls go through, maybe they should allow IPES providers to use part of the Universal Service Fund to provide battery backups for free.
