Are there any how-to's with step by step on how to setup a TDM card in PIAF? The default install creates trunk Zap/g0 but I don't see where you define the zap stuff. It is a 4 port card but only 2 are populated. One for my house line and one for my business line. I know I need separate ring groups, in/out routes, etc. but I don't even know how to start.
I have all of the config files from my current Asterisk 1.2.x setup where it all works great. I just figured it was time to upgrade and want to give PIAF a try. For testing I swapped out the hard drives in the current box and installed PIAF but after many hours last night, I gave up and swapped it back to the working setup.

The first step would be to run genzaptelconf with the card installed and see if your two new trunks come up. If so, you would need to establish inbound and outbound routes that use the zap channels. In trunks you will see only zap/g0 but in inbound and outbound you be able to establish zap channel 1,2 or 3,4 or whatever ports they happen to be.

I guess I don't understand the relationship or interaction of "trunk" and the in/out routes. I ran the genzaptelconf routine and it found both channels (3 and 4). I then putty'd in and compared the zaptel.conf file with the one on my working Asterisk box. So far so good. Now the confusion. Do I delete the Zap/g0 trunk? I see in the in/out routes screens a place to enter a zaptel channel number. Is that all I need to put there? I don't see anywhere in the trunk screens to attach to a channel.

It appears you have the same setup that I do. Go to inbound routes and create a new inbound route for zap channel 3 and select an appropriate destination, submit and reload and then test to see if you can receive calls. If it works, repeat the same for zap channel 4. For outbound routes simply select zap/g0 and it should work.

I was able to get this working with the help from a fantastic IRC channel. Several things in a nutshell, upgraded FreePBX to the latest 2.4 and created "Zap DID" entries. Created a trunk for each Zap channel and only put the channel number in the Zap Identifier field, _not_ Zap/g0 like the preconfigured trunk.

I have a sangoma A200D card. genzaptel.conf does not have the sangoma modules specified and when I run it I don't get new trunks under freepbx. I can see the w1g1 router in the system status and it has always something passing through it, but I can't make any calls from my zap trunk. Could anybody help me out?
