Had a hardware failure this weekend. Setup new server with PBIAF 1755, and then did a freepbx restore.

Doing that made all the PIAF goodies dissapear (well most of them).

I was running FreePBX 2.7.0.5 but that was the only non stock portion of the setup I can think of.

update-scripts and update-fixes (and passwd-master) are gone now, along with the nice looking login screen I get which shows you status when using SSH.

What happened ??

Fascinating.

Don't know first I have heard of using the freepbx restore overwriting the /usr/local/sbin

Generally the process to make things work is to install piaf1755, then run update-programs<formerly update-scripts>/update-fixes/password master. If youa re reinstalling from the 17552 iso <highly recommended> the equialent to update-programs/update-fixes has already been run. Also the latest payload file bring you up to a nice stable freepbx 2.6.0 with all modules <except purple which only works with 2.8 or higher>

Then make sure freepbx is up to the version you were using

then do the freepbx restore. If freepbx's backup/restore is screwing with the /usr/local/sbin folder you will have to address your comments to them I am afraid. We ship the 2.6.0 version with piaf for a reason....

It really sounds like you usr/local/sbin folder has been deleted *somehow*

Procedure you outline is the one I followed.

I probably should post on the freepbx forum. It's a bit of a mystery.

Hmm - running update-programs again seems to have put them all back (yay).

Who knows... They may try to blame our "mysterious" programs which are compiled but it sounds like this may be their problem. In our backup solution one element is the 2.6.0 perl script from freepbx which runs umodified under our program. I just tested the procedure here in the lab with freepbx 2.6 and cloned my existing gold install over to a silver install with no problems. /usr/local/sbin folder is still there unmodified. Course I just don't run 2.7 just yet. Then again tried it between 2 purple builds and all was ok. Purple PIAF uses 2.8 freepbx...

Sorry can't be of more help.
