I do not know if this is even possible, but is there such thing as a SIP Door Phone? What about a regular Door Phone that could come in as a FXS? Anyone know anything about these?

Thanks Ward!
BTW, I had used one of those in the past, and you could just do a FLASH on a phone to go to the 1st doorphone. Could you do that at all with PIAF? Also, it supports a door strike. Would you just configure it like you would without PIAF?

Instead of a X100P is it possible to use an ATA instead? Seems like a large waste of a PCI socket for a door buzzer.

I agree with reddog. Also, any ideas on my previous question? Another question: This is complicated, but would it be possible for the door to be answered and have the person say their name and have it paged to a certain page group? It does not seem too hard. It may be, though. Thanks!

By a cheapo Grandstream and set it to autoanswer a particular extension on its speakerphone. Then route the doorphone calls to that extension. Works great!

Not exactly what I was thinking of, Ward, but a good idea! I wanted to record the guest/visitor's name with a prompt at the doorbell then have asterisk play it back on the speaker. The speaker part is easy. What about the recording? Also, would it work with an ATA? How could you get the doorbell to ring a certain extension? Custom contexts?
EDIT:
Not until now did I realize that the doorbellfon unit was registering as a TRUNK. I still wonder if you could set it up with an ATA. It does not appear that the Linksys SPAs have the option to auto-dial. Uggh.
Grandstreams have it built in, though. So, if I understand correctly, it goes like this: Doorbell button pushed, goes into ZAP card, then to Queue, and then answered. Why could you not send it to a ring group
with music on hold? That seems like it would be just as easy. I was thinking more like this: Button pushed, routed thtough ATA, autodial to voice prompt for name, then to a page group first announcing name that was recorded (BLANK is at the door), then connecting to door phone. OR Button pushed, routed thtough ZAP, autodial to voice prompt for name, then to a page group first announcing name that was recorded (BLANK is at the door), then connecting to door phone. Now that I think about it, it seems pretty hard. Uggh. Now that I think about it, it seems pretty hard. Uggh.

So, could this be done with an ATA like an SPA-3102 or the like? I am really interested in doing this, but do not have a PCI slot in my system.
