SIP Phone

I need a recommendation for a good CHEAP hardware based sip phone, no softphone. I know that the PIAF comes pre-configured for the aastra 57i but at $170 thats just too much for us right now. Is there any other phones that piaf is pre-configured for?

the polycom 331 was the right choice for me very nice phone very good sound quality 2 lines and all the normal functions including xml browser , you can pull stats from the pbx to the phone screen. a power supply is need if you dont have power over ethernet!

You could go with a single-line Aastra 51i. (I found prices as low as $78/ea online).

The 53i is the next step up - you should be able to find them for $130-140.

If it's too much, you can always go with the Granstream phones - they're cheap, but you get what you pay for - $150/phone is a great price for what you get from Aastra.

Snom 320

This post is probably going to be a battle, but what exactly are you try to do with the phone?
Snom 320 is on the lower end but packs a punch on features and quality. Linksys works good, but not for programmable features.

I have a dozen gxp2000 grandstream phones and they work very well. I have only had problems with their power supplies and you can buy them (power supplies) for around 8 dollars. I pay around $80 per phone. With 4 lines and 8 speeddial/blf buttons you get a lot of phone for the money.

You mentioned two adjectives that are perhaps mutually exclusive, good and cheap.

I use, install and sell Snom, Aastra and Polycom phones. All are good, none are cheap. The Snom and Aastra's are good, full featured phones with good web gui's. The Polycoms are good, full-featured phones, but their web-gui sucks. The only reasonable way to configure Polycom phones is using the config files and either FTP or t*f*t*p.

Don't get too cheap on your phones. This is your phone system and if it in your house, it has to be good enough for WAF (Wife Approval Factor)

I'm pretty happy with some refurbed Polycom IP501 phones we picked up recently (so much so that I've dumped the newer 450 I started with).

They are in the $100-$150 range on fleabay, and very easy to get running with the Endpoint Manager add-on (but virtually impossible without it).

Three lines, good sound quality, excellent build, and the speakerphone is very good. They don't do POE, if that is a concern.

Its night and day compared to the Grand Stream 2000, that phone will be sold or tossed on the spare heap.

Grandstream GXP2000 (good cheap plastic) can be had as low as $20 on the used market. I have 4 in my house for a long time now. No problems with them.
There are other Chinese made SIP phones that can be had for cheap $10-20 but I have no experience with them and wouldn't advise them unless your patient.

Where are you finding the grandstreams used for $20? I would like a couple for that price
