Hey guys, I have a customer using all Snom 370's. I've been getting a lot of reports that they are randomly losing their SIP Secrets and force the user to enter a "Password" when they arrive to work in the morning.
Needless to say this has become frustrating for them.
Looks like they are on firmware 7.3.14.
We're an Aastra shop, and I really have almost Zero experience with Snom products, so any tips, pointers, etc. would be appreciated!
Thanks!

I've seen that almost always on my Snom 320. It still gets inbound calls, and if you hit cancel enough times, the prompt goes away from what I can remember, and outbound calls can be placed. I never found a solution for it, but never really tried to fix it either. It's in a very un-used room at the house.

I don't have any issue with my SNOM 821's. I did do a quick peak around and found that it may be in your settings:

Hi Rob I also had a terrible time trying to get my snom 360/370 to register with *. I wasn't able to figure it out until I found a setting on the 360 called "Listen on SIP TCP port"
It is located on the web GUI under the "advanced settings" under "advanced network" then "Listen on SIP TCP port:on"
Apparently the snom phones ship with the phones not set to listen for SIP packets on port 5060, and as such they fail registration. Hope this helps! "

You could also directly ask SNOM via https://forum.snom.com/index.php?act=idx - they are in Germany so expect the time difference delay, but are very helpful indeed.

Looks like according to the Snom wiki that this was fixed in a firmware: http://wiki.snom.com/Firmware/V7/Release_Notes/Change_Log_V7.3
on version 7.3.18 they note:
  • On challenged web client requests, user gets asked for username and password on the display. (SCPP-699)
I'm not quite sure what a "challenged web client request" might be, but this is the behavior they are seeing on the endpoint, and then the customer enters their voicemail password and all goes to hell!
I'll try having them update the firmware.
