When I try to set up a dahdi extension (using purple or bronze),
I have only one FXS channel on my openvox card. I enter all the relevant info, then I try to click "submit" and the freepbx interface stops me from continuing, it says Please select a channel for this device, But I Just Did! Click submit, same thing, it Won't Let Me Continue. How do I get past this? Is there a way to force it? Or bypass this error?

sounds like you still have to set up your asterisk dahdi configuration files properly.
use the command dahdi_genconf

Hi. Thank you for very quick reply. I did ran this command just now, and no errors on the command line. However, when I logged in with freepbx again, was this error "Please enter the channel for this device" in a drop down box with "Ok" and nothing else to click. I wish I could force it to just accept the input, but I do not know which config file to hack to make this work.

EDIT EDIT!! Update!! Wait a minute folks, I just found out that if you run that command, reboot, then go back and log in again, then try it again even though it says that error, go back, click into the Dahdi devices Again, then go back and try it and This time Select Zap with dahdi compatibility, it should set up your channel 1 to the extension you require.

I'm getting somewhere now.

Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge, it is so much appreciated, and I think I am able to advance. This is turning out to be so good. I am happy and grateful that I can now make the most use of the software, it has so much in it that I want to test and find out what all it can do.

Thank you
